We just happened into Gyro House while running errands in the neighborhood. The lamb gyro was huge and delicious. The pistachio baklava was the best I've had. Service was polite and the restroom absolutely spotless.

Tasty and filling lamb gyro was great! The Gyro House is clean and has a long list of items they prepare. If you're off SE 82nd and SE Holgate. I highly recommend stopping in and getting a meal!

The last time my wife and I ordered from Gyro House, I wasn't even writing for Yelp yet, meaning I shamefully didn't give this place the incredible praise that it deserves. There is no shortage of Mediterranean food options in Portland, from restaurants to street carts, but this one stands out among most of the rest, for several reasons, all of which I was reminded this last weekend. Here's the short list: * Easily the best babaghanooj I've had anywhere. No contest. There's an "edge" to it that is not easily described - spiced by not spicy. Trust me on this one. * Non-awful falafels; these ones are actually soft and moist, and not the hard, dry kind you get elsewhere. * Kafta kabobs that are grilled perfectly, giving it that rugged, savory char flavor. * Flavorful tzatziki drizzled in correct proportion, without making everything soggy. * Fantastically tart, mouth-tingling hummus that has you coming back for more, again and again! In fact, the only point on which I would knock them is the sadly deficient number of included pita bread pieces: two is simply not enough for a two-person vegetarian mezza platter! Out of all the tzatziki-slingers in the area, Gyro House is the best for a quick, grab-and-go Mediterranean meal that competes, and defeats, just about every other competitor. I could eat this five days in a row and not get tired of it...and I am sorely tempted to head back there again tonight! Lord help me!

This place was really good! The service was nice and super quick. I got a spicy chicken gyro and it's one of the best I have ever had! Definitely worth trying out if you are in the area.

Just stopped in for a quick bite. It wasn't super busy because it was just before close so we got take away. Pretty decent falafel wrap for us vegetarians but I wish there was some more sauce on mine. I love tzatziki and should have ordered more. Definitely pretty good here and kind staff

This is counter service. We ordered the lamp gyro and the kafta kebab plate. This is not fast food so it took a little bit for them to cook our food. The portions were decently sized. The gyro meat was amazing. Tzatziki was tangy. The kafta was cooked well and the rice and salad were good. The manager asked us how everything was and we told him it was great! It's def a mom and pop shop and I'm more than happy to come here again!

Have been a fan of their lamb gyros, particularly the spicy garlic sauce(!), for years. But some friends chose this as a lunch spot, and i didn't mention I'd been here about a week ago. So i tried a lamb pizza (pita bread pizza--a little thinner & denser than the gyro pitas) which was quite good--lamb, cheese and black olives. And a bit of that garlic sauce i spread all around. This place now the 86th Portland restaurant where I've had pizza. Not much atmosphere here. Very straightforward service.
